Hi, my name is Tirta Winata, and I’m a photographer based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in economics in 2011, then chose to pursue a career as a photographer a year later. Starting my career as a wedding photographer, I developed my career into commercial photography focusing on architecture, interior, and advertising in 2017.
Later in 2019, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a fine art photographer while still doing commercial work. I adore simplicity and minimalism, those two have always been his main approach in photography. His mantra is "focus on the main elements, and present only the essentials".
Since that focus usually leads him into some kind of freedom and solitude, he often consider his work as a means of "personal meditation". And by doing that, he realized what matters most is not merely about the visuals, but more about the feeling that it conveys. Which entirely encapsulated within an image, and (hopefully) brought to anyone who sees the image.
After years of career in professional photography, Tirta finally got his master's degree in fine arts from Jakarta Institute of Arts in 2022.
